We are pleased to announce that Jimmy Ballinger has joined the Rinstrum team in the USA as Sales Engineer – LBS Founder. He will be working with the sales team contributing to broadening Rinstrum’s sales efforts in the USA primarily focusing on livestock weighing applications and the LBS product range.
Jimmy brings 59 years of experience in the agricultural and livestock weighing industry to the team. He began his career in 1967 at Oswalt Manufacturing in the scale division as a bench scale assembler. He worked his way into service and, after 10 years, became Supervisor of the Scale Division, which later became Digi‑Star Scales, a name still recognized in the industry. During his tenure at Oswalt, he helped develop scale systems for the feed‑truck industry. When the business moved to Wisconsin, Jimmy founded his own scale company in 1984, naming it LBS—inspired by the abbreviation for “pounds.” Over the last 42 years, he has designed and built weighing solutions for livestock and agricultural equipment, including squeeze chutes, cube feeders, and calf scales, and has built a reputation for designing custom systems that could adapt to almost any agricultural weighing need.
Jimmy has chosen to transition the business and partner with Rinstrum to continue serving LBS customers. He will work with us over the coming years to support a smooth handover and ensure continuity of the LBS product line.
We are excited to have him at Rinstrum and look forward to leveraging his expertise as we expand and improve our livestock weighing portfolio.
