EU Manufacturer’s Conformity Assessments

Rinstrum Verification Officer (RVO)- Conformity Assessment directly from the Manufacturer

Save time, costs & hassle

As an accredited manufacturer of the NMI (Netherlands Measurement Institute), Rinstrum now offers you the opportunity to have your scales conformity-assessed directly by us – in accordance with the EU-recognized Modules B (EU-Type Examination) and D (Production Quality Assurance) under the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID 2014/32/EU) and the Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments Directive (NAWI 2014/31/EU).

What does this mean for you as a customer?

  • No waiting for verification authorities – Your scales arrive ready for use and metrology conformity-assessed.
  • EU-wide recognition of “initial verification” – Metrology markings included.
  • Full legal compliance – Our procedures are carried out in close cooperation with notified bodies.
  • Maximum process reliability – Thanks to standardized production and documented quality assurance.
  • Faster market access – Ideal for distributors, system integrators, or operators under time pressure.

The difference at a glance

While traditional verification (re-verification) is carried out periodically by national metrology authorities, the conformity assessment is the modern, EU-harmonized process for the initial placing on the market of your scale.

With us as your partner, this process becomes simple, direct, and efficient – fully compliant with all applicable legal requirements.

Your advantage: Thanks to our manufacturing expertise and certified processes under Modules B + D, we are authorized to carry out the initial verification and conformity marking of your scales ourselves – without external delays and with full EU legal compliance.

How to get authorized for conformity assessment according to module D

You should successfully complete a company audit in which we discuss and assess the requirements of the conformity assessment to be authorized for the conformity assessment as a Rinstrum customer.

We offer regular training to our RVOs followed by an examination which should be successfully completed to remain current, and our experts are always ready to support you with questions about procedures, documentation, and implementation.
