Jimmy Ballinger was at the National Farm Machinery Show with the Rinstrum team showcasing the full lineup of LBS Livestock Scales. It was great to talk to visitors about how to weigh cattle in the chute or separately in the single animal scale.

The very popular calf scale drew strong interest throughout the event. It is great for today’s progressive cow–calf operations, where birth weights are recorded for EPDs and other record‑keeping. With a 300 lbs capacity, the LBS Calf Scale pairs seamlessly with Rinstrum’s C3 Series indicators, delivering accurate and dependable livestock weighing out in the field.

Beyond weighing, the unit can also serve as a method for transporting the calf. With a rugged build to handle real farm conditions, this scale has a go‑anywhere construction. It mounts easily to a pickup, ATV, or any vehicle equipped with a receiver hitch or it can be used with a dedicated trailer. The calf can be positioned at a comfortable working height, improving safety for both the handler and the calf. Keeping the calf upright and off the ground reduces stress and creates a safer interaction.
