R400 Series: Static Axle Weighing - K405

The R400 indicators support two specialist truck weighing application, K404 for weigh bridges and K405 for static axle weighing. The K405 uses an automatic print on no motion for each axle and then prints an accumulation total. The following operational scenarios can all be handled on the one setup:
Rinstrum Pvt Ltd Moves to a New Production Facility in Sri Lanka

This week we celebrated the opening of our new production facility at Welihena in Sri Lanka. His Excellency Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Australia was the official guest. Among the other dignitaries who attended the occasion were Mr. Shameel Javadh (Country Manager for the Australian Trade Commission) Representing Her Excellency the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Robin Mudie, Ms. Dilkie Perera the President of the AUS-Lanka Business Council together with the Directors and Executives from Rinstrum. Company Heads of Rinstrum’s Local business partners also participated in the event. A group of Sri Lankan Dancers performed several traditional dances during the event which gave it a very Sri Lankan flavour.
The new factory complex is located near the coastal city of Negombo. The fully equipped new factory consists of more than 23,000 square feet building space with fully air-conditioned production, warehouse, meeting room, guest bungalow and office facilities. Continuous power to the facility is ensured with a standby 315KVA 3 phase backup Generator.
Opening of the new factory in Welihena is a big step forward for Rinstrum after the start of first commercial operations in Sri Lanka in October 2012 from its previous facility in Dankotuwa. The new factory strengthens the Rinstrum’s production arm with more capacity and resources to fulfill future growth needs of Rinstrum.
R300 Basic Weighing - K342 Firmware

A new range of firmware is now available on the R300 Series hardware offering increased flexibility for application selection. Specifically the K342 and K344 firmware is available for basic weighing applications. The K342 firmware offers basic weight display and hold, replacing the R310 or 2100.
World Solar Challenge Underway - Team Arrow motoring along

The World Solar Challenge is underway with teams leaving Darwin last Sunday - with Team Arrow the underdog in pole position for the Challenger Class!
Team Arrow is in 8th position at the end of day 3 and will cross from the Northern Territory to South Australia tomorrow. They have been averaging around 75km/hr and are delighted with the performance of the car so far.
Team Arrow is car #30 and you can follow their progress along with all the other cars using the GPS tracker on the World Solar Challenge Site. Team Arrow is competing against home grown University of Michigan.
In-Motion Axle Weigher

Rinstrum's in-motion axle scale allows you weigh your truck axle by axle while driving over it at 2 mph. The In-Motion-Axle scale is preconfigured for easy installation with the load cells factory calibrated and the indicator is preprogrammed. Just add power, zero the scale and start weighing.

Rinstrum Goes Green on Wheels

Our global MD, Darren Pearson (with some assistance from our R&D team) has been working nights on a project that doesn't weigh anything. Well actually it weighs around 440lb. Rinstrum is a foundation member of Team Arrow, a Brisbane (Australia) based solar car racing team that will be competing in the Challenger Class in the World Solar Challenge in October. The race is from Darwin to Adelaide, on solar power only.
Rinstrum is working with Tritium, a specialised designer and supplier of powertrain systems for electric vehicles, to build the electrical system within the car and the continuous communications to the chase car. The electrical system is built using our new LUA technology and CAN bus for communication within the car. We need to liaise between the battery monitoring system, solar array, indicators, brake lights and much more – and with LUA we have been able to do it all.
Keep an eye out for Team Arrow as it races down the centre of Australia in October. Also keep an eye out for our new LUA programmable indicator.

Rinstrum R325's installed at Bahrain International Airport

R400 Firmware Update

A10062 USB - RS232 Converter

The A10062 is a converter cable that provides a USB to RS232 serial interface (tinned ends) suitable for a permanent communication connection between a PC and Rinstrum indicator. It offers data transfer rates from 300 baud to 1 Mbaud and is FCC and CE compliant. Visual indication of Tx and Rx traffic is via LEDs in the transparent USB connector. Cable length: 6 feet
R325 Luggage Weighing Indicator

Rinstrum has launched a stainless steel dedicated baggage-weighing indicator, the R325. It allows for easy monitoring of both the total weight summing and the number of bags to ensure preset bag numbers and weight limits are not exceeded. Dedicated key pad functions increase input capabilities and decreases the chance of operator error. Pre-determined bag and total weight limits prevent excess baggage weights being accepted by the operator.
The R325 has built in RS323 and RS485 communications to work with the D323 remote display and a network or printer. The R325 indicator and D323 remote display are slim line stainless steel panel mounting and feature an LCD with LED backlighting. The R325 and D323 team up to provide an economical high quality luggage weighing solution for airports.
